Meet Jacy Kennedy ARNP

Jacy Kennedy ARNP ,  Jacy Kennedy is a certified family nurse practitioner and clinic manager. Jacy graduated from Indian Hills Community College with her Associate Degree in Nursing and her Associate Degree in Art. She went on to complete her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing at Walden University before earning her Master of Science in Nursing. She is also certified in Botox injections and fillers. Her background encompasses hospital registration, hospital billing, medical nursing and surgical nursing, aesthetic injections and procedures, and pediatrics. She is involved and serves on the Foster Care Review Board for Wapello Co. Outside of work, Jacy enjoys spending time with her husband, Rich, and their children, Maddex, Draek, Jaxen, and Swayzee. She loves to travel wherever she can and spends her summers camping and boating. Jacy was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa. Jacy's favorite thing about working in pediatrics is developing relationships with families and children and getting to watch them grow throughout their childhood.

Meet Emily Vaughn

Emily graduated from Indian Hills in 2010. She is experienced in family practice, geriatrics, orthopedics and pediatrics. 

Emily lives at home with her boyfriend Adam and her four children- Graecie, Bailey, Corbyn and Sydney. 

Emily enjoys riding UTVs with her family, nights by a bon fire, Iowa State Football and binge watching (crime) documentaries. 

Her favorite thing about pediatrics is being an advocate for our little people and listening to all their stories. "I love to be a part of a team that makes going to see the doctor a positive experience for kids and parents alike."

Meet Shelby Sheedy

Shelby received her certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) in 2025 from Indian Hills. She previously completed her education in the Administrative Assistant program at Indian Hills Community College. Outside of work and school, Shelby loves spending time with her husband, Clayton, and their two kids, Crew and Wrenley. Whether it’s soaking up the summer sun, enjoying family game nights, or relaxing with a good Netflix show, she values balance in life and finds joy in both her personal and professional role! Her favorite part about working in pediatrics is building relationships with children and watching their personalities grow and shine over time!

Meet Kimberly Quintero

Receptionist

​Kim is currently pursuing certification as a CCMA through Indian Hills. She previously worked as a CNA at a nursing home for two years. She has a significant other named Juan, and together they have four children: Jazmyne, Aleikxah, Victoria, and Thiago; and a Yorkie-terrier, Mona. They enjoy vacationing in both new and familiar places with family. Outside of work she loves shopping and styling hair for special occasions

She is originally from Texas but grew up in Denison, Iowa. She later moved to Ottumwa to pursue a career in cosmetology & still continuing education at Indian Hills Community College.
Her favorite TV show is "Law and Order," and she enjoys her two favorite things: McDonald's Dr. Pepper and Hot Cheetos." 

Meet Kayla Skinner

Clinic Manager

Kayla obtained her CNA from Indian Hills Community College in 2017, her CMA, AAMA from Southeastern Community College in 2021 and is currently enrolled in a bridge program to obtain her ARNP. She has experience working Inpatient, Pediatric OR, Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Outside of work Kayla enjoys golfing, working out and spending time with her husband, Olin, and their children, Dawson and Nora. "My favorite thing about working in peds is being able to help children through all of the not only the good, but bad parts of life as well. I am grateful to work in a place that I am able to provide patients and families with that much needed support and encouragement through all of the ups and down of life."

Meet Cheyanne Young

Finance Director

Cheyanne received her education from Indian Hills Community College. She has previously worked in education and patient relations. She has worked in pediatrics for over 2 years. Cheyanne is a wife and mom of two kids, Nova and Melo. She enjoys watching a good reality tv show, vacationing with her friends, listening to music, and going to concerts. "My favorite thing about working in peds would be creating bonds with littles and their families. it's rewarding to know they enjoy coming to see you when the idea of coming to the doctor can be scary for some." Meet Richard Kennedy

Sr Operations Manager

Rich holds his Master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University along with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from Buena Vista University and an AA from IHCC. Rich is responsible for Human Resources and Operations management  Rich brings energy to the practice that is contagious. Rich is a combat wounded veteran of the United States Army and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom serving on Task Force Iron Hawk. Rich has a background in being a veteran representative and as a training facilitator for Indian Hills Community College. In his spare time, Rich can be found with his friends or family engaged in either coaching or camping. Rich is also engaged in the community serving on the Bridge View Center’s Board along with the Friends of Ottumwa Parks Board.
